Please take some time to review all of the posted information.

Richmond FC offers two streams of programming in accordance with Canada Soccer's Long Term Player Development:
1) U5-U18 Recreational
2) U9-U18 Competitive (which encompasses U9-U12 Development, U13-U18 Division 1/Division 2 and U13-U15 Metro). Generally speaking, Competitive programming refers to "rep" teams and these teams/players are chosen by evaluations/"tryouts".

Recreational programming includes one practice per week and a game on Saturdays. For U5-U12 all Saturday games take place "in-house" (Richmond only) and for U13-U18 Recreational all teams participate in Division 3 of the BC Coastal Soccer League. U13-U18 games are on Saturdays and take place across the lower mainland (travel outside Richmond). Each team is run by parent volunteer coaches, however a Richmond FC staff coach is assigned to each age group and attends all sessions and offers time to all teams during practices.

Competitive programming includes two to three practices per week and a game on Saturdays. All teams participate in the BC Coastal Soccer League (Metro, Division 1 or Division 2). Games are on Saturdays and take place across the lower mainland (travel outside of Richmond). Each age group has a Technical Lead who runs all practice sessions and attends as many home games as possible. Each team has a parent volunteer head coach and assistant coach. Only players who attended evaluations (in March 2019) and were selected to a Competitive team are to register for these Divisions. The exception to this is the U9 (2011) and U10 (2010) Development Program who would like to be involved in soccer programming with high commitment expectations. The U9 and U10 Development teams do not participate in the BC Coastal Soccer League but have other organized game play on Saturdays.

Friday Night Skill Development (1st Touch Soccer Program) Players registered for the 2019/2020 soccer season with Richmond FC will also have the option to sign-up for an additional training session (beyond your team practices). This training is run exclusively by Richmond FC Staff coaches and is scheduled for Friday evenings (time is to be determined based on registration numbers). The program will run 24 weeks for the duration of the 2019/2020 soccer season. The program cost is $300. You must be registered with Richmond FC for the 2019/2020 season in order to sign-up for this. There is a click box within the season registration that you can select and it will add the fee to your total registration cost.

Generally speaking the soccer season runs from September to March. Players on select teams (U9-U18), e.g., attended assessments and were selected to a team, may start in mid-August and finish later depending on how well they are doing.

CLICK HERE to register for the 2019/2020 soccer season starting in September 2019. (You will be re-directed to the Richmond FC online registration. Please note that Richmond FC only accepts CREDIT CARDS (Visa or Mastercard) for payment. We do not accept cheques, debit cards or Visa debit.)

PLAYER REQUESTS:  Requests to be with friends are only taken at U5 (2015), U6 (2014) and U7 (2013). We do not take requests for any other age groups. We will honor one player request, if you make more than one player request it is not guaranteed you will be placed with all. Thank-you in advance for respecting this.

Relative Age Effect: Many studies indicate that in sport being born earlier in the year creates for players being chosen to selected teams (Richmond FC creates its first selected teams at U11) and a corresponding disadvantage for those players born later in the year.  This disadvantage/advantage is called "Relative Age Effect".  While we do not pretend to have a complete answer for all of the challenges resulting from Relative Age Effect, we believe a partial solution is to permit players born in the last four months of the year and playing in our Richmond only domestic leagues (U5 to U11 non-Select) to play in the year younger division.  For example, in the 2019-2020 season, a player born in December 2009 rather than play at U10, could if he wished, play at U9.  Players wishing to take this opportunity are required to make this request with the Richmond FC Administrator prior to registering.

U5-U12 Recreational Team Notification:  You will be contacted in September, after Labour Day, regarding what team your child is on.

U13-U18 Division 3 Team Notification:  You will be contacted mid to late August regarding what team your child is on.

Equipment required:  Cleats and shin guards.  All players will receive one (1) pair of socks to keep.  U5-U18 will be given uniforms that must be returned at the end of the season.
